I want to talk to you guys today about the refrigerator filter. A lot of times, it can run you up to a hundred bucks a year for refrigerator filters. But we don’t do that in our house!
We use an RO (Reverse Osmosis) System
What we do is that we have our own RO (reverse osmosis) system right over here. When the house was build, it was pre-planned underneath the floor to go to the refrigerator.
So instead of a filter, what we have is what is known as a bypass cap. When we bought it, it was around $11 dollars or something like that on Amazon. So we put that in our refrigerator and we hooked the RO (reverse osmosis) System out to the refrigerator.
What are the benefits of using our system?
One of the benefits is that you don’t have that white thread down here if you come and look at our fridge. As you can see, we don’t get all the white build up or any of that stuff. The other thing is that your ice and water are purified to the point of the standard 11 parts per million of total dissolved solids.
So our ice and water are absolutely purified. And if we spill a little ice or water, we don’t care because it’s not going to mess up the front of the fridge – and out drinking water looks crystal clear and it tastes awesome!
